The great thing about the artist is just the art it make but is the fact that it's worth huge amounts of money and nobody knows who he or she or group they are. Banksy is an artist totally unlike any other artist for starters banksy is a street graffiti artist with the best canvas, because his canvas it the world walls building ramps anything he has just about no limit.

Chapter 4 - Tate Modern

The first installation we looked at was a piece called 'Annlee You Proposes'. This piece was made by an artist called Liam Gillick, and his theme was 'No ghost just a shell'. is is on Level 5 of the Tate Modern, in the 'no ghost just a shell' room.

The entire room was 'Annlle You Proposes' , his piece wasn't just in the room is was the room, the whole room was the art the videos the chairs the perplexing style objects in the room were all part of the piece.

The objects are diff erent and brightly coloured hollow cubes made of 4 sides, scattered ove r the room use for many different purposes. They were chairs a see through wall, or a shelf unit or open wardrobe, the chairs were set in front of three flat screen televisions fixed in a line with equal spacing, in which showed a video of a strange anime type of cartoon girl talking in a sinister way with flashing images. The video was really quite strange which put you a bit on edge while watching but once you look around the room mixed with all the nice bright colours it made you feel a bit better and less uneasy.

The room was well light with wall lighting in key points to maximise, but no over do the brightness of the room, this helped to ease up after watching the video. We couldn't work out what the piece meant, however we did come to the conclusion that videos which are meant to put you on edge are suppose to be shown in dark cold rooms to add effect. Due to the fact that this wasn't in a
dark cold room shows that the room doesn't matter that much, or shows that way that a bright and nicely decorated room can cheer you up after watching a strange and creep video just by being in a brightly coloured safe looking environment.

The second piece of 'art' we decided to analyse is called 'Blood and Feathers' by artist Ana Mendieta also
being shown on level 5 of the Tate Modern. It is another strange piece but just a video this t
im
e not the whole room, and this time we found out the theme, which was apparently energy and process. The room was quite dark but with comfortable seating, and was quite warm. The darkness and the comfort made people think they should be quite will watching even though it was a silent film, it was similar to being in a small cinema. The seating in the room were placed relatively close to a projector screen in which a video was been shown of a middle aged women standing naked by a la
ke covering herself in blood goes to the floor, then shortly after rolls around and then covers herself totally in feathers which were sticking to the blood and covering her in bloody white feathers. We struggled to find a meaning but after a while decided that the meaning for Blood and Feathers was to show the beauty that anyone can find from themselves. we got to this conclusion from the end part of the film when she rises from the ground covered in feathers, and emerging like a beautiful swan, to show the beauty and freedom.
